Saw the cable bill

And was shocked!
I thought I was getting a good deal, for the channels I get, speedy internet, and all that jazz, it was almost $80!
I had it down to around $69, but I guess my free HBO and Showtime is over. Now those channels are $10 each.
I will have to rethink this, as we are not spending any time watching those channels, but it is nice to use the On Demand part for movies when we have the time and inclination.
I will have to pay $46 for my plates in two weeks. I will also have to get a new license with my new address on it.
Woo Hoo. Then I'll be officially and totally settled in here.
I hope that the tennis ball sized hail we just had didn't damage my roof too much. I wonder what it did to the car. Too late to check. I'll see it in the morning.

    Greatpost! Here is a suggestion. Downgrade the cable to the most basic package and then go with netflix for movies; it's less than $10/month for the basic netflix service.

    Yeah, our cable + internet is about $80 per month. I love having the DVR, but sometimes we don't really have anything good taping, and I wonder if it's really worth it. My family really loves TV and I guess it keeps us from spending a ton of money going out to movies and finding other types of entertainment. Still, if they ever suggested getting rid of the digital package and just having internet, I'd go along gladly. That part of the bill (about $40 for cable internet) is totally worth it to me. The rest? I'm not so sure sometimes.

    Why pay for services you rarely use? Try the basic service and netflix; if you really miss the $ 10. channels you can add them.

    I use it, just not as often as I think we should for $10 a month. And the deal will only be around for a few more months. Then I'll cancel.
    and I would absolutely cancel tv if I got the discount internet for it.
