What an idea

About two or three weeks ago, I had a weirdo idea. I wanted a dog. My mom told me that I shouldn't get a dog unless I was going to have another baby. A puppy is like a baby. It is expensive, needs diapers, and chews and puts everything in their mouths. Well, she was right. I had to buy puppy pads for it to pee on. I spent about $20 on treats, special food, and a brush with spray to help him not stink. What a great idea.

Two problems: I am not allowed to have a pet, not even temporarily.
I also know that I have to get the dog shots. I think the dog is about three months old and it hasn't had any yet.
I don't want to think about what could happen. I am currently still working on having the boys get dressed and eating breakfast instead of playing with the puppy.

Any ideas about our Christmas pup? 22 days until Christmas. Should I buy him a $10 bed? Should I expect to keep him for more than two more months? I am not worried about my landlords finding out about him, but know my neighbors would be upset, since they can't have a dog either.

    i grew up with eight german shepherds and delivered/raised close to fifteen litters so i know that getting their shots are very important. not to mention expensive! DF and i have a shiba inu (small dog about 17 pounds) and her shots cost us close to $150? and that was just the first round, they need three rounds of shots. is it a boy or a girl? a girl should be spayed before her first heat (around 4/5 mos. old?) otherwise she has an increased rate of getting cancers (ovarian, cervical, etc.) and of course pregnancy. spaying our shiba cost about $250 and the size of the dog determines the cost. dogs can be very expensive but they don't need the latest and greatest. they need a warm bed to sleep on, some food in their bellies, and companionship. so don't worry about spoiling them with expensive things. our shiba also piddled on the carpet in our old apt. which cost us over $600 when we moved out. i wouldn't mess with apt. rules but that's just me. good luck!
